As always, apart from being a well written piece, you have gained a good understanding of the society.

Thanks, Madlén! 🙏🏼 Research-wise, the locals were a lot less forthcoming than in Albania.

Nice job expressing your thoughts and the context behind it. Being American, this was a view of the Serbs that was new to me.

Cheers, Paul. Much appreciated, mate. Being English, it was very new to me too. I guess that's why we travel. 🙂

Impressive Ben. Loved the tone on these photos.

It's inspiring how you get to a place and are able to create an essay from ideas/customs and not the scenery itself. Very educational Ben, thanks for this!

Thanks, Juan. I really appreciate that. My middle-aged curiosity is making up for the ignorance of my youth. 🙂 Re. the tone of the photos, I used the Fuji Classic Chrome colour profile and tweaked the white balance for warmth.

As always, very well written! After my own trip to Belgrade earlier this summer , I was looking forward to your take, since you tend to stay longer at places and have a deeper cultural immersion.

I am glad to see that your description matches my own impressions.

I also found it a hard place to photograph.

Cheers, Stefan! 🙏🏼 Yeah, Belgrade certainly is a tough gig, and it was really hot too, which didn't help. I guess some cities are easier than others. 🙂
